Quick Overview
Omega Volatility Squeeze is an MT5 indicator that answers one question most tools ignore: how far can price realistically move from here? It forecasts the daily Expected Move with a GARCH model, tracks how much of the Average Daily Range is already used, classifies volatility as LOW, NORMAL or HIGH, and shows the probability of your Take Profit being touched. It does not open trades; it adds volatility context to the strategy you already use.
Best For
✅ Intraday and swing traders who want realistic targets instead of fixed pip distances.
✅ Breakout traders looking for compressed, low-volatility conditions.
✅ Gold, index, Forex and crypto traders working with changing volatility.
✅ Traders who want alerts on volatility events without watching the chart.
What is Omega Volatility Squeeze Indicator?
Omega Volatility Squeeze is a volatility-analysis indicator developed by EA FX Store for MetaTrader 5. It builds a statistical model from daily price data and turns it into chart levels, a dashboard and plain-language market context. It works on any chart timeframe, while the model itself is calculated from D1 data.
Key Features of Omega Volatility Squeeze
Expected Move levels
The indicator draws today’s ±1σ Expected Move as a shaded box and ±2σ as dotted levels around the daily open, plus a weekly ±1σ projection. Past days are shown as green boxes when price closed inside the range and red when it closed outside.
ADR room
ADR High and ADR Low lines show how much of the typical daily range is used and how much room is left in each direction. An alert fires when today’s range reaches 100% of ADR.
Volatility regime and squeeze detection
Realised volatility over 5, 10, 20 and 60 days is ranked against the past 250 days. Below the 25th percentile the market is LOW (a potential squeeze); above the 75th it is HIGH. The indicator also shows how often each regime was historically followed by range expansion or contraction.
Vol Score
A single 0–100 reading combines the regime, the historical expansion odds and the remaining ADR room. 60 or above reads EXPANSION, 40 or below CONTRACTION, and anything between BALANCED.
TP Reality Check
Drag the gold TP line to any price. The dashboard updates the probability of that level being touched today and within the next N bars, along with its distance in ATR.
Alerts
Pop-up, sound, mobile push and Telegram alerts cover Expected Move touches, ADR exhaustion and regime changes.
How It Works
🔹 Forecast: a GARCH(1,1) model (or EWMA with a 0.94 decay factor) estimates today’s volatility from up to 600 daily bars.
🔹 Project: the forecast is converted into Expected Move levels around the daily and weekly open.
🔹 Measure: today’s movement is compared with the 14-day ADR to show used and remaining range.
🔹 Classify: current realised volatility is ranked against its history to set the regime.
🔹 Score: regime, expansion odds and ADR room are combined into the Vol Score and context messages on the dashboard.

How to Trade with Omega Volatility Squeeze
The example below shows how the indicator’s own readings can frame a breakout trade. It is a starting point to test on demo, not a complete system.
BUY setup
🔹 Step 1: Regime shows LOW, or Vol Score is 60 or higher (EXPANSION).
🔹 Step 2: ADR used is still below roughly 50%, so the day has room to move.
🔹 Step 3: Price breaks and closes above the +1σ Expected Move level on your entry timeframe.
🔹 Take Profit: Drag the TP line to the +2σ level or ADR High and check the touch probability before entering.
🔹 Stop Loss: Place it back inside the ±1σ box, below the breakout candle or the daily open.
SELL setup
🔹 Step 1: Regime shows LOW, or Vol Score is 60 or higher (EXPANSION).
🔹 Step 2: ADR used is still below roughly 50%.
🔹 Step 3: Price breaks and closes below the −1σ Expected Move level.
🔹 Take Profit: Drag the TP line to the −2σ level or ADR Low and check the touch probability.
🔹 Stop Loss: Place it back inside the ±1σ box, above the breakout candle or the daily open.
Skip the trade when ADR is already 90–100% used or the Vol Score reads CONTRACTION: the statistics say the day’s move is probably done.

What Makes It Different
🔹 Capacity, not direction: most indicators guess where price goes; this one estimates how far it can go.
🔹 Several volatility views in one panel: Expected Move, ADR, regime, Vol Score and TP probability without stacking five indicators.
🔹 Checked against history: each symbol’s past Expected Move hit rates are shown, so you see how the model behaved on that market, not only in theory.
🔹 Fits any strategy: use it with price action, supply and demand, trend or breakout entries.
Recommended Conditions
| Trading style | Timeframe | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Intraday (main use) | M5–H1 | Expected Move, ADR and regime |
| Scalping | M1–M5 | TP probability and ADR room |
| Swing | H4–D1 | Weekly Expected Move and regime |
Platform: MetaTrader 5. Markets: Forex, Gold, indices, crypto and commodities with at least 60 daily bars of history. For Gold and indices, consider lower regime thresholds because their volatility shifts quickly.
Limitations and Risk Warnings
🔹 Probabilities are estimates. A 70% touch probability still fails three times in ten.
🔹 Not a trading system. It does not give entries or manage trades; you still need an entry method and risk rules.
🔹 Small samples mislead. Expansion and contraction odds built from few historical cases are less reliable.
🔹 Regimes change. News, liquidity shocks and structural shifts can push price far outside the model’s range.
🔹 Server time matters. Daily levels depend on the broker’s day start; set Session Start Hour if it differs from yours.
Who Should Use It?
🔹 Intraday traders: who need realistic daily targets based on how far price usually moves.
🔹 Breakout traders: who want to spot quiet, compressed markets before a bigger move.
🔹 Gold and index traders: who deal with fast changes in volatility.
🔹 Price-action and system traders: who want a volatility filter next to their existing entry method.
🔹 Not the right tool if: you are looking for a standalone BUY/SELL signal.

Final Verdict
Omega Volatility Squeeze turns volatility statistics into decisions you can act on: where today’s move is likely to end, how much room is left and whether your target is realistic. Its strength is context, not signals, so it works best as a filter and target-planning tool next to your existing strategy.

General & Licence
| Input | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| MaxBarsCalc | 3000 | Chart bars processed on load (0 = all). Affects ATR and event scanning, not the daily model. 1500–3000 is enough. |
| InpLicenseKey | empty | Your licence key from eafxstore.com. Bound to your trading account, re-checked every 30 minutes, with an offline grace period. The indicator will not start without it. |

Daily Data
| Input | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| DailyBars | 400 | D1 bars used for the GARCH model, cone and statistics (min 60, max 600). 400–500 gives stable results. |
| SessionStartHour | 0 | Server hour when the trading day starts. Keep 0 to use the broker’s D1 bars; change it to start daily levels from another session. |

| Input | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| UseGarch | true | GARCH(1,1) volatility forecast. false switches to EWMA (decay 0.94). |
